Tip 1:

Mixing in water a liquid which reacts brightly under UV light, and illuminating the tube with UV LEDs, by its base. thus does not see the original light source.
Depending on the reagent used, you can maintain the transparency of the water, choose the color, etc.. And when the light turned off, the reagent does not light up!
You can also do both ways, you can return to light with the LEDs to the side tube.

Tip 2:

Use, glued in the an a neodymium magnet motor, and put another neodymium magnet with the paper clip encapsulated with epoxy. This would greatly increase the efficiency of transfer of the mechanical kinetic energy of the motor for rotatory object.
Thank You! = )

Re: Hackerspace KL Item Price List

i want to buy one ...

Re: Automated Payment Reminder Email Test

more probably not updated, but could be a bug, investigating....

I would like to that, if I have the prior knowledge on what the others are going to do in the coming Friday.

For now we run Electronics Friday as a "Lepak Session", meaning that members bring their projects, work on it, ask for advice and share it with others. From solar charger to music instrument, from breadboard electronics to Arduino. We have it all.

When we feel inspired to do something in common, then we will announce it. The upcoming one could be "Converting an ATX power supply to a workbench power supply", for example. We will then announce it in advance, and ask those who are interested to bring their power supply and other necessary stuff to hang around with us. Stay tuned for that.

We are open for idea, if you feel like we can do something together in the session, please contact us. We will listen with keen ear. Whatever the case it might be, you are welcome to hang around with us to experience what we are doing every Friday.

That way we can get a combination of 8.3V, 10V, 15.3V, 17V and 24V output as well

Re: Project : Making benchtop powersupplies from old PSUs

i just tried it. hooked up a 55W bulp on 12V rail and used the scope on 3.3V and 5V rails and there was no significant changes to the voltage. 3.3V dipped by 0.1V from 3.4v (no load) when the bulp was hooked up and same for the 5V rail (5.2V no load). I suspect some of the supplies i have may require loads on the 5v/12v rail as they are newer ones.

Re: Project : Making benchtop powersupplies from old PSUs

Have you checked the voltages with an oscilloscope to see it there are any fluctuations or oscillations on the rails with no load? A DMM might not detect it.

But it's also quite possible that this particular brand of ATX psu's are just fine with a no-load condition on the 12 and 5 volt rails. OTOH - If I did this project I think I'd invest a couple of ringits for resistors to have a half-amp load on the 12 volt.....

Re: Project : Making benchtop powersupplies from old PSUs

Mats,

Here's what I've tested so far
- No Load, All voltages are within range
- 12v 0.14A Fan - 12V rail stable
- 12v 0.14A Fan x3 in parallel - 12V rail stable
- 12v 55W halogen bulp - 12v rail stable

Is there anything else i should test and check?

Re: Project : Making benchtop powersupplies from old PSUs

Mats,

Will have to check that, the instructables that i based it on used a 10ohm 10W dummy load on one of the rails.

Re: Project : Making benchtop powersupplies from old PSUs

What? No minimum-load resistors needed? Have you checked that all voltages are stable and within specs without the load?

Re: KLKS CNC BuildLog 02 – Buying Electronics

ckykk: yeah bought from china the TB6560.
